How to build cardboard castles, pirate ships, trains & more from refrigerator boxes

Mr. McGroovy’s How To - This is a site which sells kits to build cardboard castles, pirate ships, thrones, fire engines, trains, pyramids and more.  I include it because you can preview the plans for free. It seems to me the kits would be nice to purchase, but not necessary to complete the project.  You decide.

How to make a city playmat from canvas

Amanda over at The Little Things has posted a great tutorial describing how to make this Canvas City.  Talk about hours of fun!  Amanda talks about using it as a handy travel toy.  I’m sure some of you will use this as a springboard to many amazing things, like putting multiple pieces together to make a GIGANTIC city, or making one for trains (can you say Island of Sodor for Thomas and his friends? oh my, my boys would think they died and went to heaven!), or a farm or a barnyard or even ABC’s, use it to teach map skills, let ‘em make their own land of make believe, keep the preschoolers busy while you’re schooling the older ones…the list is endless.

Hat tip to my sister. Thanks Oosh!
